Kopi Sessions provide IRO youths and friends to invite academics, diplomats, politicians religious and community leaders for an intimate and up-close conversation. During these sessions, the youths gain an opportunity to peek into the profound experience and knowledge of their guest.

In this session, IRO youths have kopi with Mr Kesavapany – Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Mr K Kesavapany was Singapore’s High Commissioner to Malaysia from 1997 to 2002. He also served as Singapore’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva and concurrently accredited as Ambassador to Italy (1991-1997) and Turkey. He was elected as the first Chairman of the General Council of the WTO when it was established in January 1995 and a member of the Singapore Mediation Centre’s International Panel of Mediators. From October 2002 until 28 February 2012, Mr Kesavapany was the Director of the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore. Mr Kesavapany was the President for IRO from 2017 to 2018, and now continues to serve in the IRO Council.

Mr Kesavapany is also the author of “Estate to Embassy” which documents his life, challenges and experiences from his school days in Malaysia to his days in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore.

Presently, Mr Kesavapany is Governor on the Board of the Singapore International Foundation, President of the Singapore Indian Association (SIA) and a Board Member of Hindu Endowments Board.
