From its beginnings to the present day, IRO comes together to put harmony first through its leaders and inter-religious prayers. The IRO advocates peace through its public inter-religious prayers and statements that condemn gross and/or violent acts that aim to promote religious friction and divide cohesive society. The purpose of the IRO Invocation and the Declaration of Religious Harmony is to bring about inter-religious peace and these are recited at each IRO meeting. In Singapore, the IRO aims to promote not just a tolerant society, but a loving community of diverse faiths that unites and always pulls together stronger than the offences of any divisive forces or hate-based actions.
